The Disco Biscuits Head to The Fillmore Philadelphia for Their First Time Ever

The Disco Biscuits are returning to Philadelphia, after a triumphant New Year's run in Times Square. They're prepared to blow the roof off The Fillmore, Philadelphia's new premier music venue. It's always awesome to see the band on stages that they've never played before - it's especially awesome when it's in the city where they started. They've thrown down a number of legendary shows at pretty much every venue that Philadelphia has to offer, so it's going to be a fresh experience for everyone who is in the room on the first night. I have no doubt that the energy is going to be ridiculous and the atmosphere will be buzzing as the Biscuits set The Fillmore on fire, claiming it as their new home turf. I've heard that the sound and layout is amazing and I can't wait to see what the band brings to the table. I know they want to make a huge impact and a great first impression. Fans can expect some major bust outs and touchdown passes all night long. Barber will probably wear white pants and Brownie might even rock the Dipset chain again. If you're a fan of raw and risky jamtronica, and you're from the Tri-state area, I can most likely predict where you'll be next weekend.

From February 4th to 6th, you have a chance to see the Disco Biscuits play at The Fillmore Philadelphia for the first time ever, do not miss this run. You can probably already hear the soaring riffs and synergistic synths - the crack of snare mixes with thumping kick drum and riveting bass lines, over and over again. Other bands might not bring you there anymore, you may even find yourself becoming bored at some shows. It's okay. You've become addicted to the Disco Biscuits and there's nothing you can do about it. You're hooked and they're glad to have you in the band. Many try to fight the urges but eventually cave into the rush of raw, uncut trance-fusion. Don't worry, it's an exciting time to be a fan and everything is going to be alright. The Biscuits are in a positive place and the band members are clicking. They are carrying each other from one jam to the next, exercising rotational jamming and continuing to take chances. You can either submit to the Biscuits or stop while you still can (we all know you won't).

It's not 1999 or 2009, it's 2016 and the Disco Biscuits are ready to play some of the best shows of their storied careers. The band has found a balance, they've figured out what works for them. Although they haven't been touring like they used to, they continue to throw destination runs with sold out shows. They started the year off strong with stellar shows at Playstation Theater and lit the flame for Philadelphia. If they play like they did in New York City, this run will go down as the most memorable Philly run in years. They also announced that Camp Bisco will be returning to Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania this summer from July 14th to 16th. The band had a phenomenal time at the new venue last year and cannot wait to go back for their second year. I know fans don't like to embrace a lot of the hippie nonsense, but I'd be lying if I said that the vibes haven't been on point lately. The fact is that Jon, Marc, Aron, and Allen are having a great time together, and it's reflecting into the audience at every show. The smiles on stage morph into high-fives and hugs in the crowd. Sometimes loud shrieking and screaming takes place. On occasion, when the band is firing on all cylinders from start to finish, the crowd sounds like the Disco Biscuits just came from behind and won the Superbowl in the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

The intensity and anticipation is unlike any other band, the energy of a top-notch Biscuits show cannot be matched. Whether people like to hear that or not, it's the truth. They took the model that the Grateful Dead and Pink Floyd built so many years ago, combined it with the four-piece, on-the-fly improvisation of Phish and the electronic sounds of the 90's. Doing so, they became the true originators of a brand new genre. Of course it doesn't stop there - not without some inspiration from Zappa, jazz-fusion, and classical music for good measure. Enough about the sound though, you already know the sound! And if you don't, you better get to know it at The Fillmore Philadelphia next weekend. They have a different opener every night, more importantly, you will not hear any repeats! This upcoming run is going to keep you on your toes for six straight sets of improvisational madness. I could end this preview by saying, "Bring your ass to the party", but I'm not going to. Whether you have to come from the city or the jungle, fly through burgundy smoke, or swim like hell on fire  - do not miss the Disco Biscuits at The Fillmore Philadelphia on February 4th to 6th.
