The Disco Biscuits; Bisco Inferno & Their Return To Red Rocks
It’s that time of the year again, when the seasons change and winter slowly fades to spring. The snow starts to melt and the sun begins to shine as the sky becomes blue and the trees turn back to green. In Colorado, Spring means gorgeous weather, new crop and Red Rocks season. Red Rocks season is a music lovers paradise, plain and simple. Every band in the country dreams of playing Red Rocks at some point in their career, it’s arguably the greatest outdoor venue in the United States. The amphitheater always boasts a packed schedule every single year. This year though, there is one show in particular that really stands out to most everyone who loves live music. The Disco Biscuits will be making their triumphant return to the famous stage of the Red Rocks Ampitheatre. The jamtronica legends will be bringing along two very special guests for an intimate evening on the rocks. After not playing the venue last year, the Biscuits must be ecstatic to throw down a three-set show on the third night of their four-night Bisco Inferno run. For the Disco Biscuits and their fans, Bisco Inferno has definitely become an annual staple. Although the specifics may change from year to year, you can always count on Bisco Inferno happening. Always.
This year Bisco Inferno will take place from April 15th to 18th with three nights at the Ogden Theatre and one night at Red Rocks. The show at Red Rocks definitely won’t be a run-of-the-mill Biscuits show; the band has invited drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann from the legendary Grateful Dead to sit in with them for one set. After the Gathering of the Vibes set that they did together, who knows what they’re going to play. One things for sure though, it will definitely get weird. Adam Deitch and Borham Lee's Break Science Live Band will be setting th tone and kicking things off at Red Rocks. The first two nights at the Ogden Theatre will have the band nice and tight for Red Rocks and I can only imagine how sick the fourth night at the Ogden will be. After playing a solid three-night run in Philadelphia and two headlining sets at Aura Music Fest in Florida, I assume that the band is eager to impress fans in Colorado. Everyone that I’ve talked to is more than excited about making the voyage to Colorado, it’s become an annual trip for most. I am ecstatic about attending my second Bisco Inferno in the great state of Colorado and I'm confident that these shows will be the best of 2015 thus far. The Disco Biscuits love playing Denver and Red Rocks, they’ve said that it’s one of their absolute favorite places to play on numerous occasions.
If you’re a big fan of the Disco Biscuits, there’s a good chance that you already have tickets but if you don’t, I highly suggest buying them. You will most definitely regret missing these shows. The kings of trance-fusion are ready to celebrate twenty years as a band in the great state of Colorado and you do not want to miss it. If you’re not a big fan of the Disco Biscuits, you’re obviously not going to spend a lump sum of money to travel and purchase tickets. I get it, but if you live in Colorado, you should seriously consider opening up to something new and giving this band a chance. You cannot judge the Disco Biscuits by YouTube videos; it just doesn’t work like that. It’s like judging the taste of a New York pizza pie by looking at an Instagram picture. Impossible. I’ve seen newcomers get their minds blown time and time again and I love every second of it. I was one of those kids five years ago. All Colorado residents that love live music should be in attendance for at least one night of the run. Step outside your comfort zone and let the supersonic sound of trance-fusion level you. The Disco Biscuits are a one of a kind experience that you cannot find anywhere else from any other band, period. They are innovative and original; the Biscuits have created their unique sound by fusing together hints of some of the best musical genres in existence. From trance to jazz, blues compositions to classical symphonies, jam-rock to deep house; the list goes on and on.
You never know what you’re going to get when it comes to The Disco Biscuits and I think that’s what keeps fans coming back. The curious anticipation that grows every time one of their jams gets engraved into your memory. From April 15th to April 18th ,Bisco Inferno will undoubtedly be the biggest party with the best tunes in the entire state of Colorado. I guarantee that Colorado music fans will remember the show at Red Rocks for years to come. On the other hand, the Ogden Theatre shows will supply segments made of gold to the ears of every single Biscuits fan in attendance. This years Bisco Inferno is going to be the best Colorado Biscuits run since 2009, I hope they prove me right.
