Solar Circuit, a Jamtronic Trance Fusion band from Philadelphia, will be embarking on the most extensive tour of their career thus far. With over twenty dates spanning from March to June, the four-piece will be playing new venues in multiple cities for the very first time. They’re excited to spread their sound across the country, whilst expanding their catalogue, and gaining new fans in the process. They officially joined the Lost Compass Productions agency in 2019, a big move that will have a lasting positive impact. Riding their 2019 momentum, they’re prepared to utilize this upcoming tour to elevate Solar Circuit to the next level.

Coming off a fantastic set at Mercury Lounge on 12/29, the band is prepared to solidify themselves as one of the strongest live acts in the scene. I had a chance to sit down with keyboardist Steve Lasker and drummer Dan Lyons and get their thoughts on the current state of the band; if you haven’t heard of Microcave yet, it’s time to get familiar.

Chachuba is a four-piece from Chicago that blends improvisational music with electronic production in a way that is fresh and unique. They are one of the most authentic up and coming jamtronica bands in the scene. They sat down with TPC to talk about their origin and what they have planned in the near future. Horizon Wireless has been playing shows around the tri-state for nearly a decade. The act has naturally evolved into something bigger than it once was. This incarnation is by far the most complete it’s ever been. With drummer Dan Lyons adding a metronome like pulse to the music, the brainchild of Harrison Waxenberg has reached new heights.

Space Bacon has established themselves as one of the most notable young bands in the scene. Their songwriting has evolved and their chemistry has elevated, but don’t take my word for it, listen to their recent soundboards. The four-piece was formed in a Bronx basement and their sound and style is a solid representation of New York City. They’re aggressive and psychedelic with a stage presence that is raw and inviting. Coming off a sold out show in Denver (their Colorado debut) and a fiery late night set at Elements Music & Arts Festival, Space Bacon is ready to deliver a jaw-dropping performance at Disc Jam. Their set is on Saturday at 6:30 in the Innova Tent, be there.

Luke Bemand is one third of lespecial, the power trio from CT that has been making waves on the scene for years. He is proud Disc Jam alum and has seen it blossom into the successful mid-level festival that it is today. In this interview he recounts some of his favorite moments of years past, as well as giving a few shoutouts to fellow Disc Jam artists. They’re coming off a stacked year and are ready to smoke not one, but two sets this year.

Orchard Lounge has made a name for themselves performing around the country as a trio of like-minded DJ's. They can play to any room, at any time. I've seen them throw down countless sets, and am more then excited to see their long awaited return to New York City.

"I could be wrong here, but I believe OL did three of their NYE runs: 2007, 2010, and 2011. As far as being a fan, my first show was during a NYE run - 12/29/98 at the Wetlands. That was also the debut of Above The Waves. I was just a young college kid in NYC to see Phish but we were listening to their studio album Uncivilized Area a lot and were very excited to see them do a late night. "

Luke Bemand is 1/3 of the power trio Lespecial. The band has solidified themselves as one of the most talented and original bands in the northeast, and they're steadily expanding their fanbase across the country. After just releasing their new project CHEEN, they opened up for the Disco Biscuits in Worcester, MA. I caught up with Luke to discuss what's been happening with Lespecial as they finish 2017 strong.

Tractorbear is a Disco Biscuits tribute act that initially made big waves in the northeast music scene. After playing memorable shows for Biscuits fans in multiple cities, they decided to hang it up for a while. After further deliberation, they agreed that it's time to return to the circuit, and deliver their take on trance-fusion for anyone that's willing to hear it.

Space Bacon is a band that will most definitely succeed. Combining ambient elements with trance-fusion and metal-core, Space Bacon has continued to expand their fan base in the tri-state. When it comes to a rock show, the lighting designer can be just as important as the musicians. He has a major role in making sure that the show becomes engraved in the minds of the audience forever. The Disco Biscuits have become known for their light show, and Johnny R. Goode is the main reason for that. Since 2002, he's been lighting up the stage and taking the band's live show to the next level.

Dylan Owen is a breath of fresh air in a genre that has drifted from it's roots. Originality, lyrical ability, soulful beats; he has every variable needed to succeed as an independent artist, and he will. Born and raised in Orange County, New York - he carries his youth with him every where he goes. No matter what happens, he'll never stray too far from his roots. As he continues to gain fans, release music and play shows, he's confident that he's headed in the right direction.

During Catskill Chill 2014 I had the chance to interview Marc Brownstein (the Disco Biscuits, Electron, Conspirator) and Mike Greenfield (Lotus, Electron). This took place before The Passion Collective was built so it was published on a different website, who has since deleted it. I have dug it up from the archives and re-published it for fans to read. Mind you it's from 2014! 

"I didn't want to just get back to where I was, I wanted to come back as a much better DJ. I feel like I've improved significantly.  A big part of that is being sober and that is something I am very proud of. I was partying too much before and now I realize that I can focus and hear the music so much better. I was able to do much longer mixes and try things that I never had before. The music even sounds better to me sober."
